from ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates and running

I'm using Natty,
I did not have to set BSSID.
The thing I did to get this solved is.
1) create a file named 'wireless' in /etc/pm/power.d
2) edit this file and enter the following text:
#!/bin/sh
iwconfig eth1 power off
That's all.
With this approach the normal 'wireless' routine is overruled

I have a workaround, I've used for some time now.
libpam_keyring used to to include an executable called pam-keyring-tool, which
can be used to open the keyring. Starting with Gutsy, pam-keyring-tool is no
longer included.
I downloaded the source and compiled the executable. It is used like this:
I have the same problem, two dialogs on autologin, zero without autologin.
libpam_keyring (or whatever it's called, we're all talking about the same...)
works if I don't use autologin.
I guess the problem is that if no password is entered, the keyring cannot be
opened. That's why gdm needs to get
It behaves exactly the same way as it did on Feisty, which was fixed.
I have a T42. g-p-m flashes the screen, going to min and then max a few times
upon startup. After that, it's at min brightness at all times. Killing g-p-m
fixes the brightness problem.

I can confirm this on a Thinkpad T42, too.
I can shift my brightness between to (both low, 0 and 1 I think (of 7)) levels.
It switches between the two when brightness is lowered and/or raised. I.e. I
can keep raising the brightness level, but it does work...
I can, however, raise the brightness
As I sometimes use my wired interface, this is not a good workaround for me.
Instead I have added e1000 to MODULES_WHITELIST in /etc/default/acpi-support.
While this works and I am able suspend/resume, NetworkManager sees my wifi

Sorry, jbj, you're right. I still doesn't work. I am only able to

I does work with the workaround you posted (not unloading/loading e1000
driver).

I still thinks this is a bug, I guess I just "read" it wrong last time. It
clearly isn't ipw2200 causing the panic, but NM can disable both wired and
wireless devices.
But suspend works for me now! Although if I rmmod e1000, the kernel panics!
The other bug died in a kernel panic aswell.

Yes, I think the two bugs are identical.

UPDATE:
The kernel panic apparently originates in nm-applet. I tried to disable

There are two different ways of disabling wireless, hardware and software, on
the Thinkpad (Fn+F5) and using nm-applet. If I disable BOTH, suspend (and
resume) works! Since NetworkManager has not been updat
Updated to -10 kernel.
Still doesn't suspend, but does change away from X into vt1 (or something like
it), and panics there.
