I have that very same as well. My computer is a Thinkpad T42 with a radeon mobility 7500 gfx.
I load the radeonfb (to avoid power loss when suspending to ram) module (put radeonfb in /etc/initramfs/modules and run update-initramfs) same package versions as above.
