I thought we were trying to help people who wanted to use a dock launcher get something that worked?? or is this all about telling people that it's nvidia's fault?? I have the same problems and do not have the new drivers. a temporary solution would be to use Cairo-Dock instead. I have attached a screenshot of mine. some people like it a lot more then avant and it is considerably more configurable. It does not suffer from the issues with artifacts like awn do

Same thing happens to me when using feisty or gutsy. only happens if I use avant-window-navigator though. If I use the regular panel it doesn't happen, I have NVIDIA 7600 GS 512MB. It doesn't happen at all using opensuse 10.3 even using avant-window-navigator so it must be something related to ubun
