Sorry if I'm reporting this against the wrong package.
The default `/boot/firmware/config.txt` file in `noble` server contains
the directive `enable_uart=1` in a section for `[all]` Raspberry Pi
versions. The documentation at

I get this several times a day when I open Chromium. But I get a
complete freeze of the system for about 5-10 seconds each time. Display
does not update, mouse cursor frozen, keyboard entry ignored.
Then the desktop unfreezes and everything goes back to normal till the
next event. Most annoying.
@chad.smith I used to use "NEEDRESTART_MODE=l" so needrestart would
print a list of suggested restarts and I could then run it interactively
if I needed to, but now I don't get a choice. needrestart always
restarts without asking.
So for now I put a bunch of processes to protect in a file in
/etc/
I believe the patch referenced above causes other bad behaviors.
Specifically, it causes systemd-networkd to be restarted without any
sort of prompt whenever a library it links with receives a security
update. In my experience restarting systemd-networkd can break active
WireGuard tunnels and can
On Mantic Server I have 6.5.0-1012-raspi, so hopefully the newer kernel
solves the problem and there's nothing to be done for Noble. Thanks for

Noble I removed it from my Raspberry Pi 5 running Mantic, and as a
result the power button stopped working. The error is:

older eDP panels and which started with the 5.11.0-22 as in the original
report here. (Instead of "wobbly" graphics, I simply get no graphics

I have the same issue with an HP EliteBook 840 G5, using an Intel Core
i5-8250U (Intel UHD Graphics 620) and an AMD Radeon RX 540.
Under a clean Focal install (20.04.2), I can successfully boot and use
my machine under kernel 5.8.0-55, but I get the blank screen described
by other commenters under
I found out what the issue was. The problem is the new linux kernal
update Linux 5.8.0-50-generic.
After booting up with Linux 5.8.0-48-generic (the previous one), the
problem is resolved

I just set up Ubuntu 13.10 on a new system the end of last week. The
install, including cups-pdf, went fine, and cups-pdf worked as it should.
The password that is being asked for in localhost:631 is the same one
you use when you enter your password for updates.

Yes, this workaround does work!! Thank you. I had read about a PPD
file for cups-pdf in the cups-pdf site, but didn't know where to find
it.
I think the issue is that the PPD file never gets installed as the
driver for cups-pdf when cups-pdf in installed, not that some upgrade
wipes it out.

One other tidbit. Last week I purged and reinstalled cups-pdf a couple
of time trying to get it to work. I had gone into Localhost 631 and
noticed in the PDF Printer it listed the driver as Local Raw Print
This is the same file as in the printout in the last attachement. When I
open Nautilus to look for the created pdf files, it almost looks like
there is something in it for an instance and then the icon goes blank.

Bring back Intellihide for unity as an opt
I see this same behavior on my Thinkpad w520 since the update this
morning around 10:00 AM (I could suspend properly prior to that). In
the attached pm-suspend log I see awake logs messages consistently 20

Beta 2 DVD. The computer has nvidia video. Everything worked fine. Then
I did the updates as I always do after a new install. I rebooted, and no
video. This system has only Ubuntu on, so I don't get any options to

I have no way of going back to my 12.10 installs since they have all been
updated to 13.04. But I ran some tests on 13.04. Here are the results:

Attached are the output files for the Cups error log and the Capturing
print job data. The only thing printed on the Capturing print job data
is text at the bottom of the page. The entire tiff picture area is
