I think Adobe has dropped the translations a while back , so there is
not much one can do about this. Generally, they seem to be abandoning
Linux. Adobe Air for Linux was discontinued, Flash for Linux no longer
being developed, Adobe Reader X was never released for Linux, no 64bit

Somehow, mounting this tmpfs fails, obviously because, I have noticed

I did something as close as you can get to a complete reinstall: I
purged everything except for the bare minimum (those packages on which
ubuntu-minimal depends on), next I cleaned up the /etc dir and removed
all config files which had no owner and did not belong to an installed
package, including,
regarding my previous message: I now disabled samba and winbind
authentication in pam-auth-upate, this got me rid of the console login
problem, but did not affect gdm

My 2¢, about what the problem is:
1. FUSA is part of the /default/ panel config in Ubuntu, meaning that it
is made harder for people who want or have to use the keyboard to
execute shutdown, reboot and so forth after a fresh install. You have to
opt out of it, not opt in. Also, you have to know in
wouldn't the best solution be to make this configurable, give users the
choice?

I also find it somewhat counterintuitive to have shutdown, hibernate,
suspend and reboot in the fusa applet. This looks as if it was to shut
down or reboot the user not the computer.

I understand that building against libbeagle-dev introduces a dependency
on libbeagle only, not on beagle itself.
Installed-size of libbeagle is only 151k, so I think this is entirely
