Bug reports exist for the two issues. The debugger helper issue has
been ignored so far (which for me, is the most critical of the two), and
the unclosable/frozen windows issue is said to be fixed, but the update
comes to official PPA's "in a month or two" :(
Missing debug helpers in QtCreator/ca
Some more info, under "show details" it says:
The debugging helper library was not found at /usr/share/qt4/qtc-
debugging-helper/, /usr/qtc-debugging-helper/3076391351/,
/home/james/.local/share/data/QtProject/QtCreator/qtc-debugging-
helper/3076391351/.

I have exactly the same issue after upgrading from 13.04 to 13.10 -
missing debugger helper, and a warning appears when running a program in
debug mode. Exact same package versions, etc., as b3nn0.
I wonder if the issue has to do with migration from Qt4 to Qt5
libraries? /usr/bin/qmake-qt4 is a
