I can confirm this. I'm using Linux Mint 15 (Olivia) 64-bits which is
Ubuntu based. Today I wanted to use Libre Office, switched to full
screen mode but no way back. Also when the menu's (at the top) appear,
the rest would be blank.
I can however use the keyboard, for example to save the document.
I can confirm this. I have the same problem, however I have some other
package:
mysql-server-5.5 5.5.31-0ubuntu0.12.04.2 instead of mysql-server-5.5

Quick update: I should mention that I do get 2 different fan speeds:
Constantly on but slow and a higher RPM speed. It doesn't seem to be
controlled by the kernel acpi modules but rather a hardware behavior,
platform independent.
My CPU right now is at 39C and the fan is in its "quiet" state (stil

nothing on /proc/acpi/fan and sensors-detect detected the temperature
module k10temp, which in this case was already loaded. Only difference
between Maverick and Lucid was that I had to manually add k10temp.
End result is same: $s

could not invoke the command 'sensors'. This is the output when I run it

Confirm on my Acer Aspire 5553G; Fan always on no matter what the
temperature is. It's a brand new computer.
Also I've read on other posts/bugs that the ATI fglrx driver helped (I
have an ATI HD5470) but it made no difference with me.
Running Lucid 2.6.32-25 64bit.
The fan is on from the moment
Latest kernel update (2.6.32.25-generic #44) hasn't changed it for me.
Didn't expect it to since I did the upstream testing already.

I checked for cifs-utils and could not find it as a valid package for my
distro (Lucid 10.04). I did a quick man mount-cifs, first line of
description says:

Can you please be more specific on what you did to get it to work. What
packages did you have to install with apt-get install -f? Did you have
to download the packages or was it already downloaded?
When I tried to apt-get install -f the packages that it says it is
dependant on, it says p
I get exactly the same error(s). I tried removing the packages that are
not yet configured from DPKG (dpkg -r -a) and restarting the apt-get
dist-upgrade, but it gives the exact same error every time. Any help

system. What I remember from the menu.lst is that pointing it to the
correct drive root=whatever did not solve the problem. I think the
problem may be grub's menu.lst but it may also be related to initrd

using the 32bit desktop 6.10 iso I could not install to a disk already
formated to ext3 containing *only* /root and /home without selecting
the reformat switch.
on my other desktop, I installed the 64bit alternate 6.10 iso under
the same conditions and it worked perfectly.

I wanted to do a clean install on a disk with media on it already that I

ubuntu-6.10-desktop-i386.iso during step 5 or 6 did not accept / without

/home/edc/Desktop/cupswrapperdcp110c_1.0.0-1_i386.deb
and
/home/edc/Desktop/dcp110clpr-1.0.2-1.i386.deb
on my AMD64, under system, admin,printing it registers, though when I
print to it nothing continues to happen for a long time. :) I did chmod
/dev/usblp0 and correct /etc/cups
My cdrom is IDE and all my disks are SATA, there is no reason for the
IDE disk to change the order of the SATA disks. I have two identical
SATA disks, 80G and one 300G. Seems Ubuntu wanted to recognise the
biggest disk as the first one. Once I removed the 300G, installed and
then put back the 300G

Seems the card is ^(&*( , no hardware acceleration.
Ubunutu should provide a blacklist of hardware which doesn't work well
on Linux so manufactures will provide better support to the developers.
