I installed vim-editorconfig like so:
sudo apt install vim-editorconfig
Then I ran vim and typed ":scriptnames" -- editorconfig was not among
them.
When I look in /usr/share, most vim plugins appear to be in the vim/

@ochosi: Thanks for the link -- it's useful context. I didn't realize
that the switch to light-locker was that recent. Given that it was
recent and very intentional, my saying "don't use light-locker as the
default" doesn't seem like a very constructive route to take.

This bug is still an issue on Ubuntu 8.10. I can't describe how to
reproduce it because it seems to happen intermittently. Sometimes
firefox will work for days on end and sometimes it will crash every time

I can confirm this bug. I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 and firefox 3.0.7. The
crash happens both in regular and safe mode (ie, all plugins disabled).

This happens to me when I log out. The screen goes blank, and the
computer stop responding entirely. ctrl+alt+f1 (etc),
ctrl+alt+backspace... nothing works. I have to power off my computer
and power back on again. I always find this message in

If you're having problems (like I was), don't forget to try upgrading
your BIOS. I finally got it to work on my Inspiron 1300/Feisty system
by upgrading my BIOS from A02 to A10.

I'm using a Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop, and my mic input doesn't pick up
any sound. Sound Recorder (v 2.18) doesn't record anything, and Skype's
"test call" feature doesn't pick up my voice. I know my hardware works
because everything is fine under Windows. I've just upgrade
