Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-media

Not really sure what I was doing. I double-clicked on the little
speaker icon, played with the volume settings (un-muted the capture
setting, to be specific), and then closed the window. A popup said
"this program is not responding". I said "wait". It went away, and
then the crash notifier appeared. I followed the instructions to submit
a crash report, and here I am!

I was playing with various Alsa/OSS settings
(System->Preferences->Sound) during all of this, trying to get my
microphone to work.
