This bug is still an issue on Ubuntu 8.10. I can't describe how to reproduce it because it seems to happen intermittently. Sometimes firefox will work for days on end and sometimes it will crash every time I try to visit a website (eg, Gmail), which is what it is doing today. (I'm writing this using Opera.)
I'm running Firefox 3.0.11 on Ubuntu 8.10, and when I run it in gdb, I get a similar stack trace to the one posted above.
