Using the card reader on my desktop my SD card's size is incorrectly
displayed, on my laptop it works fine (also above 1GB, it's not a fake
card).
The card is a 2 GB card, phys geom is H 48 S 47 C 1686
My desktop reports half the size and half the cylinder count, using

I have the same thing if I boot into windows btw, using the propietery
driver it bitches that I should use an active adapter, however linux has
worked perfectly for ever.
I have 3 identical screens set up to identical resolutions and
refreshrates, so sharing clocks and what not should be no issue
I guess that commit is the cause of it actually, as that is the version of the
kernel that is the problem (the bug tool does not allow to select a kernel
version other than the one you booted into)
3.2.0-31.50 works perfectly, 3.2.0-32.51 does not

I found the issue, playing around with some settings in the
/etc/default/grub file I found that commenting out both lines containing
"HIDDEN" that were default on now does show the menu.
Apparently the HIDDEN lines configure grub to listen for a shift press

around:
right click the time and date in the top right of your screen
open the preferences
go to locations and add your location/a location with the same time zone
click the time and date so the drop down menu will ope
