XP Pro, SP3 and VNC-viewer running under Windows.

After installation of KOOKA I installed in addition th OCRAD 0.16.
Running KOOKA, menu file > Import image I imported the jpg-Scan of a document.

Excluding the switchbox and connecting keyboard and mouse directly to
the PC had no further effect: Sometimes the system hung, sometimes not.

Trying to run Pitivi from Anwendungen > Unterhaltungsmedien > Pitivi

HP Laserjet 4M plus (duplex-enabled) with a network-card and HP
jetDirect (configured as "HP Laserjet 4 plus" since "HP Laserjet 4M
plus" is not in the list for printer-installations).
Imported document from MS Word. (Its prints
BOINC client IS running.
xhost +local: returns with
"non-network local connections being added to access control list"
No change at all, even after reboot.

However: In
Anwendungen > Hinzufügen/Entfernen
and searching for BOINC only BOINC Mgr and KBOINCSpy is offered. (BTW: In
Windows mgr AND client get installed at the same time, and so does the manual
installation of 5.4.9 in UBUNTU).

PPS plays correct under WinXP. Opening it in impress and pressing F5 starts the
presentation. After the first slide within 6 seconds the second slide is

Similar situation here (ubuntu 6.10 german) and Totem Video Player 2.16.2 and
GStreamer 0.10.10 und GNOME.
Small difference: Some wmv's are playing (video+sound), some not (sound only
with visualization).

I face the same situation. UBUNTU 6.10, german version.
Additional remarks:
The installer (synaptic? gdebi?) installs BOINC 5.4.11, but as can be clearly
seen from the BOINC download-page this version is created for Windows!
The recommanded version for Unix-systems ist 5.4.9.
