Not sure if the screen will turn off in this mode. I will test.

I can confirm that this is present in the final release. Just happened
to me today, with a 64-bit alternate image that I just downloaded. I was

Problem still present in 10.04. Standard wireless drivers do not work at
all with this card which is a common card. To use Netgear WG511T
the Madwifi driver has to be installed, and re-installed each time
there is a kernal update.

I confirm this as a problem in Kubuntu Hardy Alpha 5 (fresh install) on
my Inspiron 1420. Xev still says that I am hitting Alt but it does not
do anything:
