I just upgraded a working system from an up-to-date 18.04.5 installation
to 20.04.1 and lost sound in the process.
The upgrade itself was uneventful but now Pulseaudio lists the dreaded
dummy output as the only available sound card.
Alsa correctly sees the card as Card: HDA
I tried an Avantree Leaf bluetooth transmitter with my Plantronics
Blackbeat Pro 2 and I don't have any improvement. In call mode, the
sound is still mono with the same (bad) quality that switching the sound
profile to HSP/HFP. Why there is no difference?

damned I did all this job for nothing... I didn't see the patch but
seems it's exactly I encountered and the solution I found it seems that
it fixes the issue right!
However as I said I also enabled the use of confidence field which
really improve the use of the keyboard of this computer. IT c
I just found time in order to debug this problem. I found a "bug" in the
hid-multitouch driver. I also enabled the confidence management provided
by this touchpad in order to avoid pointer movements when we are using
the keyboard.
I'll try to submit this patch to the kernel developers team.

Apparently, it came from the package `connman`, an Intel utility to
manage wlan and bluetooth that I installed wrongly since it's intended
for embedded systems.

I never heard of or used the level5 either, but to solve the issue could

Yes, this happens when there are non-ascii character in one of the apt
sources files.
…which must be very common because the disabled sources comment added by
the release upgrade process is localized !
For example in French, the following was added to all my
sources.list.d/*.list.distUpgrade dur

My laptop is an ASUS UX302LG with kernel 3.13.0-5-generic on Ubuntu
Trusty 14.04. When I boot, the screen is switched on but remains black.
I connected another screen which works fine (VGA or HDMI) but I'm not
able to use the primary screen.
I tested the kernel drm-intel-nigh
Ok, I will send it on my next reboot.
For information, I was unable to suspend the laptop because it was awakening
some seconds later.
I made it working by using the following script (/etc/pm/sleep.d/20_zenbook) :

I have an Asus UX302LG with Ubuntu 14.04 and I connected another screen to be
able to wor.
Today, I installed the kernel drm-intel-nightly/2014-01-23-trusty
(http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel-nightly/2014-01-23-trusty/)
and it seems to work well.
