I got hit by the same issue on Ubuntu 21.10 with snapd version
2.54.2+21.10ubuntu1.
Patching the file as described in #1 fixes it for me.

scrolling in Konsole, flickering or disappearing taskbar entries when

plugin is loaded (noticeable by a short gray 'flash' on the place where

running a 32-bit Kubuntu 8.04 (KDE3 version). Latest BIOS updates are
installed.

I can confirm that the "sudo /etc/acpi/sleep.sh force" workaround works.
I do not even need the "force" parameter.
Resuming after suspending from KDE's start menu, from KDE's (Guidance)
Power Manager or closing the lid does not work.
