I did some more testing and found that gThumb version 3.2.4 is also
affected by the same bug. Image rendering is extremely slow. So the
problem was introduced before or in version 3.2.4.
I also tested various other image viewers and gpicview renders images
very slowly too. Since I never used gpicv

crash again. I actually reinstalled cgroup-lite, as after purging I got
a log in, that logind crash, and then pretty much nothing was working

GRUB issue with it, so I ran a boot-repair DVD and that solved the GRUB issue
in 13.10. After opening my brand new 13.10 OS, it asked if I wanted to upgrade
to 14.04. I did and I get the "grub_term_highlight_colo
Haven't looked into this in detail (I'm still in firefighting mode), but
the main reason for this is usually that the core dump exceeded 3/4 of
the memory size and thus is considered too big for analysis.

I have the same problem on ubuntu 14.04 with elan touchpad. I use a
optimus laptop with nvidia 640m gpu and intel gpu. Using the touchpad
causes ubuntu to freeze, and it is possible to unfreeze going to and
from a virtual console. I am using nvidia 331 and prime.
