@Scott: Regarding mounting from the terminal, Linux inherited terseness from UNIX so only gives messages when commands don't work. "df -h" should show whether you mounted OK. Regarding "dpkg-reconfigure grub- pc", your sda and sda5 and other answers look good to me, could you have EFI rather than MBR boot? What do you see when you run "sudo efibootmgr -v"?
@psusi: Is anyone looking at what is causing this problem or do you somehow regard it as user error? It seems odd that previous upgrades seem to have avoided this problem - did the developer toss out what he thought was unnecessary code for this release? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1289977 Title: Ubuntu 14.04 Update breaks grub, resulting in "error: symbol 'grub_term_highlight_color' not found" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1289977/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
