I used to have monitor 1 "beneath" monitor 2, so the launcher was on monitor 1.
I then used the Displays settings to move monitor 1 to the right of monitor 2,
so Unity put the launcher on the far left, monitor 2. When I did this,

I've also seen this, but my kernel panics weren't sporadic - they were
constant. Not anymore, though - I had a BIG fight with the FGLRX-drivers
(HD 6850 - Gnome Shell won't quite play ball), and along the way I installed
GDM. Maybe this has something to do with LightDM, if using GDM fixes it
Speaking about the patch, I really can't see it =) Could you point me to its
location, or, better, attach it to the ticket?
Would be really nice, since probably bleeding edge release is not coming out
yet.

11.10's kernel at least does ship the samsung-laptop module, so the
samsung-backlight package from voria's PPA is not necessary any more.
udev also ships the necessary rules, and this bug is marked "fix
released". So from a maintainer's point of view there was/is nothing
further to do here.

Ok, just for grins, I loaded up Firefox, clicked on

roller_3.2.1.orig.tar.bz2 and let it open in file-roller. When it did, I
clicked on and dragged the contents and dragged it to the desktop and
this was the result.

The problem crept up again a few days ago (maybe once and within a small time
span of 5 minutes, but it did reappear), despite the work-around. So, I guess
it's not the same bug as Bug 839164.

when i upgraded to oneiric. it made natty totally unusable. btw, i think
i could see the invisible windows when i restarted compiz or the unity.

Whenever I try to connect to AIM, I get a "Connection can't be
established error." It works on my other Mac OS X computer under Adium
and on Ubuntu on Pidgin.

fixed by experimenting with system/preferences/mouse/left-hand and
right-hand, to verify it was left-mouse-button-hardware and not
software. then i cleaned my mouse. seems to have fixed it.

Well - even though the current RB source in ubuntu has a build-dep on
libmusicbrainz3-dev, support doesn't get enabled.
So I guess that that answers why no support. Would be nice if it could retrieve
the cdinfo somehow.

Hi, Seth.
The dumps I posted yesterday are when I see the slow down, and I'm not
near any other electronic devices.
I'm going to have to keep a journal of the "mouse flying off to the
left" problem and see if it correlates to things I'm next to.
