I have also a computer that is still affected by this in 2025. Why it is

Installed a radeon graphics card as a test, problem dissappears.
Remove the card, switch back to integrated graphics, problem comes back.
Also tested HW decoding and forcing software, makes no difference, both
stutter with intel.

Same issue occurred for me today on upgrade from 22.04 to 24.04. There
was some error during the initial upgrade, causing it to exit and it had
to be resumed. After the upgrade completed, `/etc/resolv.conf/`
downgrading python3-276 to python3-271 helped! since then GTK is opening
up again.

Upstream has closed the issue, but I think they have misunderstood the
bug report.
The problem is that contrary to standard resolvers, systemd-resolved is
returning SERVFAIL for this case instead of NXDOMAIN.
Nobody is asking for the query to be forwarded, only for the response
code to be right.
Talking to Wordpress and they think I might have a different issue. If
that's not it I'll come back. Sorry about the confusion.

Installation part of xubuntu is working fine.
But after install and reboot, you get the login box. I type in the password for

I'll try it again when more updates are available. It's not a problem
for me, I was just surprised when it happened. I've had very few issues
with Ubuntu, and thought this might be something not many people have
tried before. I usually use the --y switch anyway.
