Right now the 8.4.1 release seems to be the most stable we have had for several

Please check your solr.xml file, it needs to contain this line

Please create a bug for this in JIRA. I think that HttpShardHandler needs to
handle shards from shards param the same as the auto-computed shards it gets
from ZK, but have not looked into it in detail yet.

On the other hand, if you need auth setup with Solr, you may meet road blocks
polling Solr metrics APIs unless your metrics client supports that auth, so
that could be a reason to go with JMX for now.

Hi
I don't see your requirement clearly. Sounds like what you really need is an
UpdateRequestProcessor where you CAN intercept docs being added and modify them
as you wish.

not you cannot hope to re-index from the content in the index in
a lossless way. If you have everything stored, I'd create a new collection and
write a script that reads all docs using cursorMark and indexes them into the
new collection.

You need at least 5.2 or 5.3 to use SSL.
But if you at all care about security you should REALLY REALLY upgrade to
latest version. Just check the list of fixed vulnerabilities and bugs.

Well perhaps you don't need to remove stopwords at all? :)
Or a middle ground is to NOT removing stopwords in your 'index' analyzer, then
you have the flexibility of removing them on query side. Thus if you use
&stopwords=false on your call perhaps that works?

Typically you'll place the -Dsolr.httpclient.config file somewhere restricted
so there should be no need to encrypt it.
IF you encrypted the user and pass in that file, where would you place the
secret decryption key for Solr to decrypt them?

Try to add &shards.info=true to your request. It will return a section telling
exactly what shards/replicas served that request with counts and all :)

The sitecore app will get errors when that core is not found, and it is then up
to the failover logic in sitecore to try the master. You should of course add
back the missing core and let it sync up.
