Hi All,
I have a couple of RedHat boxes and wanted to implement a server to server
mirroring. In case, where the
primary server goes down backup server will take over. Thus, minimizing
downtime.
Is there an application in Linux that can do such thing?
thanks,

Does anyone have any methods of mirroring web/ftp sites using wget?
Also, if mirroring ftp sites, how would you mirror the accounts?

If you're a serious updater, send e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] If it's just for
personal use, look at packages like fmirror.

The best thing to do would be to read the RedHat manuals that come on

Does anyone know of either:

Perhaps unplug your primary drive, plug your mirror in its place, and
try booting. Depending on how you made your mirror, you might not even
need the floppy. But in either case, you can now make your mirror
bootable, and not worry about the floppy. Once it is bootable, put it

Obviously, you can't always trust your HD, either.
And, if you're overly concerned, make multiple boot floppies. The changes
that all of them are going to fail at one time are fairly slim.

Don't worry about making the replacement drive bootable, to start.
Create a boot disk...if your system crashes, move the mirrored drive into
the primary spot, boot from the floppy, and run lilo once the system is
up.

Can you suggest an easy way to do it? Now after copying all files to a
new harddisk, I cannot make the new drive bootable! Lilo insists on
writing to the real boot device. The chroot '-r' switch cannot change
this behaviour.

There is a utility

That does just that! There might be a new version available.
