Interesting you should ask that. I had a rock solid system here until I
changed motherboards. I had 2.0.33

Red Hat usually doesn't distribute new kernels unless there is a critical
bug that MUST be fixed. That's because installing a new kernel can hose
your system
I can add that I have been using 2.0.33 for several weeks now
with no problems like you're describing. The only problems

I've been running RedHat Linux 5.0 (kernel 2.0.31, as distributed by
RedHat) for several months, and it has been rock solid. Last night I
compiled the 2.0.33 kernel sources taken straight from ftp.kernel.org, and
it wedged a few minutes after boot (during a RealPlayer operation).
