I found that my Belkin card wouldn't work on my Dell Inspiron 7000
running Rh8, but my Toshiba Portege' 7140 running RH8 worked fine. The
Dell worked running windows. So there must be something different about
the pcmcia/card bus hardware. Just a thought.

I like Postfix. Postfix is:
super-easy to configure
very secure (Wietse Venema is one of the security gurus)
supported by IBM
very, very fast
compatible with Sendmail alias files and command-line

OK, the line in /etc/sysconfig/static-routes is...
eth0 net 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 gw 192.168.0.10
so whenever eth0 is brought up either from a reboot or from "service network
restart" the route will be added. Again this is on the smoothwall box.

sendmail is great. it's what handles most of the world's mail and there's a
reason for it. configurability and security used to be issues with it, but
it's been solid for a long time now.

Hello, I'm running samba on a redhat linux 7.3 server in order to share
files to a mixed linux/windows local network without a domain controler,
all clients are configured to do local authentication and this
usernames/passwords are the same as on the linux server.
I'd like to restrict access to so

I'm glad it helped. Put the ip_forward entry into your rc.local and it will
turn forwarding on when you reboot. Also, I was doing a little research on
the route entries like the static route we added to your firewall...
route add -net 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 gw 192.168.0.10

Hello!
I am using firewall with the option "high" selected. Despite of
especifying that ports 25 and 110 are allowed to be used (tcp and upd)
the sendmail servide does not work.
Anyone knows what is the problem?
