The warning is due to the fact your /boot is going to be above
cylinder 1024.  Provided your computer BIOS can support booting
(i.e. LBA mode) above this cylinder then recent versions of lilo
and grub can work in this situation.

For lilo you would need a line in lilo.conf that says lba32.

For grub it is supposed to be able to automatically determine if
you BIOS supports LBA and hence allow you to make use of your
whole disk.
