Yes, the patches were reverted, then replaced with the ones you listed
from next/master tree. As you noticed, they did not revert cleanly, so
I had to back port and remove code that was added by newer commits.

I just recently updated to 18.04 lts using -d option. Earlier in 17.10 I had
issues while shutting down. And thought that seems to be less in this since the
last two days I updated, now a new problem is annoying me.
As soon as I suspend (which I do more than often) and resum
I have the same issue. Ubuntu 18.04 with Nvidia 1070 MaxQ GPU. Have switched to
intel GPU but still powerdrain is enormous so obvioulsy the nvidia card is
still in use.
Powertop show me that the network interfaces wlp3s0 (iwlwifi) drains around 14W

Hello,
I installed Ubuntu Budgie - amd64 on my Inspiron 1420. When I close the
lid the Notebook (apparently) goes into suspend mode. Instead of
starting-up upon opening the lid, the notebook shuts down. I couldn't
find the settings for the lid in the settings menu.
