Thanks. Those are certainly crashes in the Nvidia kernel driver. I'm
only confused now as to why the original Bug Description at the top of
this page describes other non-Nvidia kernel crashes. That's why I
thought you might have faulty RAM...
Yes the issue in comment #7 does look like bug 1930733.
Have been using the new kernel on Ubuntu 20.04 since 17th. Have tested
the following scenarios
On power
On battery
Closed Lid
Suspend from Shutdown menu
Cold reboot
Have not seen the crash since then. Anything else to do? Install 21.04
and the custom kernel and try again?

failures from 23 to 2.

tractions and now it's being closed because the kernel used is no longer
supported?! I get that Ubuntu is opensource software, but still is still
disappointing.

I was getting errors with unmet dependecies in one of the .deb files,

used the "acpi_listen" at that time it didn't feedback any output when i
pressed the brightness hotkeys. Again I used "sudo showkey -s"

the problem disappeared.

I have found workaround to get LAN working. On Ubuntu kernel
5.11.0-18-generic if i boot up system and log in - LAN is not working
correctly - CRC errors etc. If laptop is put into hibernate (save to
swap partition), then turned on and system state restored from
hibernation, LAN adapter is working

Thanks, this apparently solved the problem.
I had to pin Font DPI down to 96 though, because the proprietary driver
sets DPI must too high, which let to giant letters and a mismatch
between applications respecting the DPI and those using a fixed 96 DPI
anyway.

get_seconds() is gone, as it returns a 32-bit, which will wrap either
around 2038 or 2106. It is only used on Linux port of oss4 to determine
whether a "license" is good. Just conditioning the definition of that to
the macro LICENSED_VERSION should be good enough to let it build again.

This bug occurs sporadically after upgrade to Ubuntu 21.04. The vlc
workaround works as on 20.10 when the bug occurs.
