While working with Cyrus 2.3.7 for email delivery via ltmpproxy, we
encountered a problem where the lmtpproxy would die with a

I found it much easier to use Simon's packages from:

They work on CentOS3, so they should work on RHEL3. If you decide to go
this route, uninstall what you have done so far, and start over with the

If I comment out the local6.debug line, then the imap log entries get logged

Andy,
We are only having the problem when selecting folders that have thousands of
emails in it (which, of course, would only be the executives!). The version
is OL2002, SP3. OE and Squirrelmail have no problem at all accessing these
folders.

Yup, sounds like a DNS problem to me, especially the sendmail problem. Try
adding an entry in /etc/hosts for the hostname, if there is not one there.

DOH! Thanks again, works now. The man page for adduser (or useradd) admits

Is there anyway to fix this? I hope to fix this before Monday, that's when
the server goes live. I'll do a network sniff and see if I can capture some

Hi!
I'm looking at upgrading from a Cyrus 1.5 to a more current Cyrus Imap, and

I would look at the permissions on /etc/sasldb (or wherever the sasl data
base file is located). It must be readable/writable by the user (or group)
that imap runs under (probably 'cyrus').
Best of luck!

Personally, I use the 'mark it deleted' option and avoid the problem;
