Hello,
I also have 2 return-path from the beginning :

Actually, I got vacation to properly respond... but I'm not really happy

but things at least work right...
Part of my problem is that somehow on my machine, under my sendmail config

Bingo. Sounds pretty darn close...
I'm not sure how to go about setting sendmail to use lmtp exclusively...
I tried something like this in my .mc file, coming from an example I found
in the 2.1.1 version (which I'm not running, but anyway), just a snippet...

For improved performance, Cyrus tends to cache seen state changes

Here's a guess: You're using the old sendmail cyrus configure which
delivers mail by calling the "deliver" binary as the mailer. In the mailer

I am using Cyrus IMAP server version 1.6.24

I have a weird problem with a MS-Outlook client.
Email sent to the "Deleted Items" folder disappear

Checking the user's mailbox I see that there

Okay, you can login but what does timsieved tell you? In my case it says
something like:
"SASL" "PLAIN"
So, it will accept PLAIN authentication.
Now, I guess your timsieved is not correctly
We rolled out the skiplist backend on Saturday and it could hae gone a
little better. For some reason, it seems that the performance of
fdatasync() under Solaris 2.7 is terrible under high load conditions or
maybe we're just assuming the operating system is smarter than it actually

Dave, you're mixing two types of setup w/ ldap and sasl:
1. Storing passwords in openldap and letting sasl access them (=Openldap
password db) _then_ use the sasl-ldap patch:
i.e. : imapd(or something else) -> sasl -> openldap -> password
2. storing passwords in sasldb for Openldap and and othe
So does anybody have any comments on how to fix this behavior in the Cyrus
mail server?

Hi Simon,
I can pop-3 with keith and telnet to mailhost 2000 without a problem.
Somehow, it does not like plain as the authentication method. I was
successfully authenticated if I remove the sasl_mech_list, which sieveshell
will then use MD5-CRAM to authenticate me against /etc/sasldb2. That wo

I am wondering if I have this process right, I want to
use LDAP with cyrus so do I store everythign in ldap

I think (I could be wrong) there may be a problem with CVS.
When I issue the following command:

I get the following error:

Hm, sorry, I don't know whats wrong with your setup. IIRC when you have
more than PLAIN in your mechlist, sieveshell can not use PLAIN. This
only works with cyradm by now.

- what do you get when telnet mailhost 2000 ?
This is what works for me here:

Simon,
I tried add the entry in pam.conf and it is still not working. I think
something else is wrong. Syslog register such an entry when I issue the
