else is Ubuntu repositories. It is possible that the upgrade is a red
herring, but I had successfully compiled e17 from svn (easy script again)
less than a week before upgrade and have not been able to recompile it
since.

easy_e.sh)
All the libs install without a problem (even e_dbus, and the libdbus-dev
packages are installed).

by catching the crash when it happens and finding out just what went on :)

That is exactly what I said. dbus-daemon is started during login. But later
it exits or crashes for what reason I don't know (usually takes a day or two
for it to exit/crash). But e is running later on. Then, kde programs stop
working, but e still keeps on running (at least for me). :)
