Install a bootloader on that hard disk's MBR. I recommend g

cooler than the LGA775-based setups Intel currently has.

Quick workaround (though not recommended) is to open manpages_1.46-1_all.deb,

I'm scouting for a Linux distro for a complete newbie who I think will be
interested in Linux. RedHat or Mandrake might be easy to install, but the mere
fact that they ship with a broken compiler that breaks almost anything is not
too comforting (I started with RedHat, and I can't forget the fir
1.) I partitioned my disk in this scheme: / - 80 MB XFS, /home - 2GB
reiserfs, /var - 1 GB XFS, /usr - 1GB XFS. I prepared another 1 GB XFS
partition supposedly to migrate /tmp, but everytime I login as a normal
user the system can't create temporary files. It works fine with root. I
need a big TE

I'm having problems with running the multimedia packages in potato,
particularly the audio programs (I have XMMS and RealPlayer 8 to name a few).
I'm using the CMI8330 sound card. I followed the readme file for CMI8330,
compiling sound and sb as modules, then loading them via modprobe sb.
I can refer you to the Philippine Linux Users' group, since I'm also a
member there.
We have a sizeable amount of developers using GNU/Linux in the
Philippines, particularly in the academe, medical profession as well as
in ISPs.
