A HP Laser Jet 1000 printer and driver was to be installed on a PC
running Debian Etch.
The appropriate packages were installed (ghost script, foo2zjs, cups,
foomatic, some foo-ppd package etc.) No samba was needed. The printer
needed a bit of special attent
es for the next two
days and emails them to me. Remind is especially handy for birthdays
or anniversaries because you can set it up to calculate how many
years, just in case you sometimes forget...

package offers to do this automaticaly for you when you install it. Try
dpkg-reconfigure squirrelmail

I prepend an explicit path to them? I have a script,
/home/carlf/bin/newsguy, but typing just "newsguy" get me "command
not found", although ~carlf/bin/new

hy it's doing it when you press esc twice. i have to press
>esc four times to do it...
Is this on a console or over a terminal? It may be that you have to press
escape twice to get a single escape character to be read; that is,
escape may be acting as a sticky modifier, and you have to hit it
twice to get the actuasl keycode.

crack ues its own version of crypt, you have to cd to the correct
source directory of teh crack distribution and make the crypt
library.
They discuss this in the crack documentation.
