that probably won't change
much). You could also try mailing Daenzig if you prefer.
The dev packages need to be hacked to fix them as they depend on
specific versions (I don't know of the dri tree can build the dev
packages, need to check).
There shouldn't be any problems with r

Guarddog depends on xlibmesa-gl | libgl1, IIRC xlibmesa-gl1-dri-mach64
provides xlibmesa3-gl and maybe xlibmesa4-gl but not xlibmesa-gl (I
changed that so I am not sure what the original package said)

It seems to "provide"/"replace" the modules that would cause all those
programs to be removed. There are apparently more recent versions around so
might look at those.
There are alternative mach64 DRI packages, "flgr" which is linked at ATI's

Hi. I think, from the content of this post, that you're replying to
me; but I'm not sure, because your post didn't quote anything for
context (and in general, your posts don't include an "In-Reply-To:"
header, so they don't thread).
If this wasn't a reply to me, sorry . . .

If this module replaces the other three, does it not offer the same "entry
points", functions, or in Java parlance, implements the same interface?

r a particular package. man apt-cache for more info.
It's hard to be more specific than that, because the package you're
referring to (xlibmesa-gl1-dri-mach64) doesn't appear to be a Debian
package (that is, it doesn't show up at all at p.d.o).
