That's the OSS driver. Are you using hotplug? If so, add "emu10k1" to

Are you trying to use OSS or ALSA drivers? As far as I know the emu10k1
drivers that are included in the kernel will not work for the audigy.

-Newer driver, older tools: not ok
-Really old driver ( driver version 0.7 or earlier - before 2.4.8 and

Not to press the point further, but Linus merged the v0.15 emu10k1 drivers
(upon a diff) because _his_ sblive wouldn't work with the version in
