(audio and Data) built on top of cdrecord..
But I have a feeling it is broken right now..
As for nautilus, I am not sure what they use. they
have libnautilusburn ...

then you can use -dev=ATAPI:0,0,0 or -dev=ATAPI:0,1,0
etc. with cdrecord depending upong which drive you
want to use for writing.

This may seem too simple but I used xcdroast in X. It found my ATAPI CDRW
drive and gave me the access string which was ATAPI:0,0,0. I was then able
to use that at the command line for cdrecord.
Also, you may want to take a look at
/usr/share/doc/cdrecord/README.ATAPI.setup.

I wish to (permanently ?) mount both so that I can play dvd's and also

Hi,
after reading a lot of howtos, newsgroups, etc. i constandly have the
following problem with my cdrw-drive (when i try to mount it):
dusk:/# mount /dev/cdrw
mount: /dev/scd0 ist kein gültiges blockorientiertes Gerät
(english: is not a valid block device)
scsi-ide-module is installed proper

and both of them worked as did cdrecord. This does not work in Debian
(2.

- if lilo/grub passes hdc="ide-scsi" than it will see the cdrw
and will not talk ata for ide disks
- vice versa for kernels that talks to disks on hdc that
wont see ide based cdrw
- or so it would seem ... ran into that problem with bo
