I have had problems with the current server on two different machines. One (gateway 7600) got the bliniies after install, and the other (K6 with wierd diamand 2500) went thoroughly unstable. I installed the bo xbase, xsvga, and vga16 on the K6, and it works fine now (save xdm won't go). prev

I have tried numerous permutations of the XF86Setup routine, with and without the original config as a starting point, but to no avail. Are there other config files used by XF86_SVGA, besides XF86Config? __ Eric Fain D

Try running XF86Setup - also, even though you may have uninstalled the xbase package, the configuration files were probably left behind. use 'dpkg --purge package_name' to remove the configuration files as well. Make sure you install the package xserver-svga - though it sounds like you already di
