I have had problems with the current server on two different machines. One (gateway 7600) got the bliniies after install, and the other (K6 with wierd diamand 2500) went thoroughly unstable.
I installed the bo xbase, xsvga, and vga16 on the K6, and it works fine now (save xdm won't go). previously, X would crash under busy netscae or realvideo, and wouldn't restart until a reboot. on the gateway, i started downgrading, stopped when it looked like it would pull ncurses3.4 (oh, you need ncurses3.0 for the xterm in bo xbase), reinstalled the current versions, and suddenly X, includeing xdm, worked. bottom line is i thnk there's something flaky about the current release. If i can find it, i'll put the last servers from the frozen hamm period on. rick --
