Yes, sadly, and yes.

I'm making a somewhat vague effort to provide precompiled kernel
modules in unstable, but it's tricky keeping up with the current
kernels.
like this:
make-kpkg --revision number kernel_image
make-kpkg modules_image
But it keeps complaining about version numbers and dependencies not being
correct when I try to install the .deb file make-kpkg is producing (only
installing the lm-sensors-..-.deb).
I suspect that I have to chage somethin

Hi there!
you may use 'apt-get install kernel-image-2.4.18-686' and you'll install
all the needed packages.

im running latest sid (regularely updated), and i installed lm-sensors just
now. the sensors-detect report that i should load "i2c-viapro" which is
quite right, but that module doesnt exist under the installed kernel.
is there any way to get the i2c-viapro module without installing ker

Two questions:
One:
How are you supposed to install the lm-sensors-source when you compile
your own kernels. the resulting file from make-kpkg modules_install
depends on kernel-image-2.4.20. I just --force-depends'd it in, I assume
that's not the proper way.

Hi all,
Sorry to post this message twice..
I'm unable to get lm-sensors working.
MB asus P4T533-R with P4.
Installed lm-sensors-source, compiled, patched the kernel and reinstalled
the kernel (2.4.20) inclusif i2c.
Setted-up the kernel with all in modules.
Sensors-detect detect nothing
