On 3 different machines, DPMS no longer turns off my monitors after upgrading to woody/sid/XFree86 4.x/gnome 1.4. The screen goes blank, but it doesn't do the suspend/off. I suppose it could be a problem with gnome 1.4 since that was installed at the same time, but even "xset dpms

Hi, I installed the gnome debs from ximian using dselect, no probs. I get the log in box, but when I try and log in as User, it throws me back to log in box, starts fine as root though. Tried renaming .gnome and .sawfish files in my home directory to another name but this hasn't helped. Any ideas

Yes - I had this too. The problem lies somewhere in the config files for Sawfish or Gnome in your home directory. Try renaming the sawfish folder, then logging on again. If this doesn't work, do the same with the .gnome folder - though you will, of course, have to go back to a default gnome desktop

Ximian is a Free Software company, says the web page . So does anybody know the deb-src line for Ximian GNOME?
