If you use a debian rescue disk, you can boot into your system this by
passing the kernel the correct arguments such as
linux root=/dev/yourrootpartition
after its booted up, you should be able to just run lilo to re-install
it.

I need different umasks for different nfs mounts and the mount page does
not give any help since nfs doesnt seem to have the umask option.
Any ideas on what I could do to acheive this ? BTW, I am running testing

I did something very stupid -
cd /root
chmod go-r .* -R
thinking that it would change just the permissions on the files inside
the root folder. Now all my permissions are screwed up.
Is there an easy way to rebuild the permissions on the files in the
system.

The c102 packages have been recompiled with gcc-3.2 which probably wont
link with opera which is probably compiled with gcc-2

I just wanted to let you guys know that I was able to trace the problem
down to php4-apc - a php4 cacher which had cached code based on the
version of php installed at the time. After deleting all the cache
files, it runs fine.
