Hi Everyone, I upgraded my machine a couple of days ago to an asus p4p800 motherboard (http://www.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=P4P800&langs=01) with on board sound and lan (not that I particularly wanted anything on board). Since the upgrade, I have been having numerous problems with the network. I used to have two network cards in the machine - an rtl8139 chip card and a hp card - J2585B forw which I used the hp100 module. The motherboard has the 3com gigabit lan for which I use the module downloaded from the asus site(3com2000). Right now, lspci shows devices as unknown included the host controller which I believe is springdale. When everything was freshly installed, it refused to recognise just one of the 5 installed pci cards. after shuffling them around a bit, it eventually recognised the hp card, sound card, tv card and scsi card. However, it never detected the rtl card apart from saying that it was a network card and it didnt show up as a network interface either. The hp100 did show up as a network interface and worked fine for a while - all day yesterday in fact. However, this morning, it decided to stop working. After fumbling around for a while, I got the 3com card working - dont know why it decided to work but I insmodded and it just worked. However, after working for a few hours, that stopped working as well after showing a few errors along the lines of hardware failure and unexpected irq error. The hp100 now works intermittently again as in it drop a few packets now and again and regularly (perhaps every 20seconds or so) just stops working for about half a minute or something. When pinging another machine on the network, after around 500 packets, i get 60% packet loss. The hub flashes for each packet sent out but doesnt seem to flash back. There are no problems pinging between other machines on the network and I have the same problem pinging from another machine to this one. I very much hope that someone can point me in the correct direction to solving this very annoying problem which is starting really depress me. I should mention that I have also tried switching the cables and upgrading the kernel to 2.4.21 from 2.4.20 to no avail. Thanks,
