Hi,
I've been reading the man pages on dpkg & dpkg-deb to find out if it's
possible to covert the deb source directory:
foo-x.y.z.orig
debian-dir with all the patches
upstream-source-dir
to a source tar ball with all patches applied?
dpkg & dpkg-deb man pages talk about build ru
Hi,
After having my fill of pop-ups in galeon & mozilla stating I have no java
plug-in I tried to get said plug-in.
First, Netscapes accursed site, where the plug-in is, doesn't like galeon or
mozilla. Usually I couldn't get it to start the download and if it did start
after unpacking I got an
Hi,
Attempted to try Hurd tarball and everything was fine until Hurd attempted to
access root partition during its boot phase. It couldn't find it. I'm
guessing the aic7xxx driver is an older one with no support for the 39160 dual
controller?

Hi,
I've been trying to build Nautilus-1.0 from source(gnome.org) on Woody.
I was hoping an experienced programmer could answer this...
I have the deb packages installed for mozilla-0.9.5 & mozilla-0.9.5-dev but the
Nautilus-1.0 configure script thinks mozilla is < 0.8. I added some debug

Hi,
I've got the latest XFree4 woody packages installed and it works great with
the default 2.2.17 kernel. I decided to try out the 2.4.0-test11 kernel and
built it with agpgart and matrox support. Using G400 32MB.
When I execute startx, the monitor mode is switched but the screen stays

is what Win95 does. When a device change message comes

I've been too lazy to learn linux kernel programming to do this;)
Dell probably uses a similar PnP mechanism.
This sounds like a good project for 2.4 and devfs.

Since my default
path has /usr/bin/X11R6 in it won't this start the old X?
Should I put /usr/local/X11R6/bin as the lead in my PATH?
Also, do I need to update /etc/ld.so.conf with the /usr/local entries for X4
and is the order important in ld.so.conf?
Thanks,
scott worley
