Just wondering how one can accomplish cleaning
up the disk? I.e. I want to overwrite
the existing disk so that no information can

Simply recreating file systems is not likely

what method did you use and how well does it work.
Just trying to get some feedback.

I am running lprng version 3.7.4.
Here is the printcap:

how do people do this with printers that are not administered
via windows software. Is there a linux solution that could
be used to administer firmware update, say for HP printers
in particular? I am think of the recent snmp security issues.
I am not just interested in linux solution but any sugges

the following reports:
http://www.cert.org/incident_notes/IN-2001-12.html
http://www.cert.org/advisories/CA-2001-35.html
which apparently refers to ssh1 crc-32 compensation attack detector
and some other problems?
Judging from the page there openssh is fixed only in v

I am thinking of some console or gui driven tool that could create

I can't get a make-kpkg kernel to boot. It can't mount the root fs. Note
I am using initrd and compiled make-kpkg with --initrd. One difference
I notice with the stock kernel and mine is:
# locate ext3
/initrd/lib/modules/2.4.17-686/kernel/fs/ext3
/initrd/lib/modules/2.4.17-686/kernel/fs/ext3/ext3
I am running win2k within vmware and was wondering how
to access the printing system on the localhost? Does
it have something to do with configuring the samba server
vmware runs?

convert the package since I need to hack the deb package generated
but it would be nice to actually look at the rpm in more detail.
Anyone know how to do this? Alas rpms don't use the simple ar
format.
