Greetings,
Last night my wireless suddenly stopped working. The only thing I did
differently from any other night that I can think of is close the lid while the
computer was trying to Hibernate. Ten minutes later I realized I needed to
send one more email so I tried to wake the computer up an

I was wondering if there was a scheduled fix for this or if I was possibly
using
sftp incorrectly in Debian Squeeze.
I am attempting to upload files onto my webserver using sftp. As far as I can

This originates from me trying to figure out why my digital camera doesn't work

This is confusing. There is 'backports.debian.org' and 'mozilla.debian.net'.
Both
use squeeze-backports in sources.list.
apt-get install -t squeeze-backports iceweasel, on my box, points to
backports.debian.net, I haven't added the mozilla.debian.net to my sources yet

I got the latest vanilla kernel 2.6.38 from kernel.org and that fixed both the
mouse disappearing problem and the wmv video lockup problem.
What is the easiest way to downgrade the kernel as a work around for this
problem?
debtop:/home/steven# apt-get install linux-image-2.6.32-5-686=2.6.32-30
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Version '2.6.32-30' for 'linux-image-2.6.32
That is the same thing I have here. Including the video playback described in:

IMHO for a server you probably want to go with Stable:
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/6.0.1/i386/iso-cd/debian-6.0.1a-i386-netinst.iso
It should be a pretty straight forward install once you burn the iso to disk,
but just in case:

I could try that, but I am a little nervous wandering away from a "stable"
system. Would I have to wait for the next point release for this to get fixed
and how would I maximize my chances of this being fixed in 6.0.2? or sooner
maybe?

Since upgrading to 6.0.1 playing wmv from iceweasel locks entire system. The
only way to unlock is to hold power button until machine shuts off and then

Here is one example of a page that did it to me:

after build a vanilla 2.6.38 kernel, the mouse pointer is finally back.
It has to be a kernel problem.

Yes Chen, that is correct. Either Suspending or Hibernating followed by the
wake-up results in the mouse pointer reappearing. I found that to be the case
here too.

Hello,
I hope this is the correct place to continue my search for how to turn the
mouse pointer back on after upgrading to 6.0.1 It was working perfectly then
I rebooted after the upgrade. Ever since then I have had no mouse pointer.
Changing the themes has no effect. I am using GNOME.
