Okay, I'm trying to get to know the pig. I've only just installed it and have done no modifications to the default install other than answer debconf's questions. I notice that my snort-monitored interface leaves promiscuous mode and enters it again five seconds later. I'm assuming this is f

LyX & libxpm4?

Running Woody, I recently installed LyX 1.1.5fix2-1. I receive the following error "In CreateXPM [pixmap.c 332] error converting: (Can't get color)" several times when I run lyx. Several of the toolbar buttons show only a "p" and opening a new document gives me a black-on-black workspace.

Web-based email w/notes field?

2001-05-03 Thread Robb Kidd

X snarls the F1 - F5 text consoles, but runs fine itself. Killing the X server does not unsnarl them. I apologize for bringing up this routine question. I've seen several posts about this in the archives and still cannot solve this problem. All this RTFM'ing has made my eyes water
