not in the package. I forget the details and that computer is out of
service for a while so I can't look it up.
We really need a debian-UPS list for while so that we can co-ordinate
effort on this matter.

through 1.4.0.31 should not be used with
libc6_2.0.7u-5, so I downgraded dpkg to 1.4.0.27.1 and apt now works as
advertised.

If I add the dependency by hand the ne module loads just fine. But if I
then run depmod -a again I am back to square 1.
