Currently with my Sony Vaio, if I boot Linux with the VGA port connected
to a monitor, both the lcd screen and the projector are displayed. The Fn-F8
combo does nothing under Linux at any time, and booting with the VGA port

There was just an article in _SysAdmin_ magazine about almost exactly what
you're asking for. The author used it to e-mail commands through a
firewall, but it would be easily adapted.

i have a guy who doesn't stop to send me the info i need in splitted
word documents, and he's unable to change his behaviour...
now for decoding the word documents i use wv and its just fine, but
acutally i am stuck in decoding the splitted file??

Have a look at /etc/alsa/modutils/0.5. I had the same problem
and I found it was caused by an incorrect statement in that
file. More precisely alsaconf wrote snd-card-intel8x0 instead of
snd-intel8x0. I've edited the file and now it works fine.

with an AXIS 2420 Webcamera. The pictures in hires are interlaced and i need to
know if there is any deinterlacer program i can use.
