message I created one even though it didn't seem to do anything. Cu
I did install xdm if that makes a difference. I went and looked through a
few different files for anything that had the twm name in it since twm is my
current WM when the system starts.

Controlling the VESA display requires real mode interrupt calls, which
are unavailable after the kernel has been loaded. Therefore, the VESA
framebuffer support can't be used as a module, and must be compiled in
the kernel to be used.

After compiling it with make World and make install everything works very
fine. The advantage is that you may update in the future very simply by

Forgive my stupidity, but I wanted to install XFree86 4.0.2 on Potato and
realized I can't find the package via apt-get, dselect, or on-line FTP links in
www.debian.org. Is it at all possible to install version 4.x on Potato? If so,
