I have exactly the same problems on a 2.0.36 kernel (slink - and whatever ppd comes with that) (i.e. regular echo request failures and hangups). I can't stay on line for more than about 10 minutes at a time max. My phone line is good - assuming it's not a pppd bug, what should my ISP be doing?
