if you are running slink 2.1r3 (the latest) there are no problems going to
the latest kernel(2.2.x) although some things may not work anymore(like
lsof) but the machine will still boot and still be useable in every
way.  ive done about 6 slink installs with almost immediate upgrade to 2.2
in the past few weeks and never had a problem
