Setting up ip network which files

I am going to set up ip on to talk to my other linux computer and would like to know which files I need to modify. In a Linux book I have, which doesn't talk about Debian none of them do, says I need to modify the rc.inet1 and the rc.inet2 files. They don't exist on my Debian system. Thanks, K

Many vendors supply low-level format utilities which run under DOS. These programs are able to mark the bad blocks at a very low level so you can use the disk. Check out the disk manufacturer's website. Alternatively, create a small partition over the first couple blocks and start your real part
